BREAKING NEWS: GARAGE DOOR INSULATION ISULATION IS THE NEW TREND
Insulate My Garage Australia specialise in insulating existing garages doors, shed and verandas.
Insulating the garage door, wall or ceiling is the most cost-effective way to reduce temperature and make the area comfortable. It is a one-time installation with permanent benefits.
In many homes, the garage plays a key role. Other than being a place to park your car, it often ends up as an extra living area, gym, workshop, a man cave or a kids retreat. Even if you choose to use a garage for its proposed purpose, installing insulation in garage adds an extra layer of thermal protection to your property and acts effectively to protect the core of your home from extreme hot and cold.
We help homeowners across Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania with garage door insulation to make the area more comfortable.
Our objective is to reduce the internal temperature between 13-17 degrees instantly whilst improving energy efficient, electricity cost and creating a thermal barrier, supported by a 25-year performance warranty on our insulation panels.
Making garage door insulation affordable and available at the lowest price is our primary objective, while using the best insulation products with the fastest installation turnaround in the industry.
HISTORY
After spending almost 20 years in telecommunications industry, Founder Michael Karikis joined the energy sector in 2016 and was instantly hooked on ways to reduce electricity cost whilst reducing carbon footprint.
With a personal interest in home improvement, Michael identified that the largest opening in the home was the garage door which was often overlooked by builders and homeowners.
We are the only insulation company in Australia who specialises in retrofitting existing garage door insulation including sheds, warehouse, veranda and workshops.
Top and Side perimeter garage door seals are also available in rubber, brush and foam depending on the gap between wall and garage door. This is usually decided on the day as each garage door is uniquely different.
A garage door without insulation allows external weather to enter the property. Without a thermal barrier any direct sunlight heats the garage door transferring radiant heat inside the home. In winter, garage door transfers the cold climate indoors. Professionally installed insulation will make a 13-17 degrees difference instantly.
From humble beginnings, the business now services Victoria, Queensland, ACT, New South Wales and Tasmania.
panel insulation and environment
Supplied and installed on sectional and tilt garage doors and sheds with sustainability in mind, our SL-Grade Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) panels will last the life of the building. It creates a true thermal break, far outweigh any other insulation material.
Environmentally Safe
No Harmful Fibres
Fire Retardant Rigid Panel
Soundproof Properties
Lightweight and Durable
The material’s ability to create a more consistent ambient temperature means you are not reliant on inefficient artificial heating and cooling. This reduces energy use and the production of greenhouse gases creating a more sustainable future for all and saves you money.
There are no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s), nor are any CFC’s used in the manufacture of the Expanded Polystyrene (EPS).
Rigid insulation panel ensures optimum performance by creating a thermal barrier around – reducing energy consumption and carbon footprint making for a healthier, greener environment.
OUR DIFFERENCE
Our rigid insulation panels are a premium insulation product, that is why it is backed by a 25-year performance guarantee.
This durable rigid panel is specifically designed to achieve exceptionally high thermal values, unlike traditional bulk insulation and blankets, our insulation rigid panel will not shrink, sag or droop and can increase heat loss by 15-50%.
Manufactured in Australia from a fire retardant expanded polystyrene core creating a superior insulant, thermal break and non-permeable moisture barrier.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Our graphite infused insulation works in the same way as traditional insulation, with one primary difference – the high-purity graphite particles give the insulation a reflective property which increases the energy efficiency of the material. Our rigid insulation panels trap air inside their structure. Insulation can address the two problems associated with sheds and bars:
- Extreme temperatures
- Moisture
We integrate high-purity graphite particles manufactured from 98% trapped air with a 2% cellular matrix into polystyrene beads to create the raw material. This material is then manufactured, to convert the graphite material into rigid boards that are dark grey in colour providing up to 20% more energy efficient than traditional white expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation.
ROLLER DOOR INSULATION
WE DON’T JUST CLAIM PERFORMANCE; WE PROVE IT. VIEW THE DRAMATIC THERMAL CAMERA EVIDENCE DIRECTLY ON OUR FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM PAGES.
THREE-IN ONE SOLUTION:
Reflective Insulation: The material reflects a significant amount of radiant heat away, reducing the amount of heat that enters or escapes through the door. This helps maintain a more stable internal temperature, especially in environments with extreme external temperatures.
Thermal Break: This helps reduce the transfer of heat through the door, especially important for steel or metal roller doors, which typically conduct heat easily. A thermal break helps prevent heat from traveling through the door, improving the energy efficiency of the building.
Vapour Barrier: This prevents moisture from passing through the door, which can be crucial in preventing condensation, mold growth, or moisture damage in certain climates. The vapour barrier helps keep the internal space dry and maintain good air quality.
SPECIAL THERMAL GLUE:
The thermal glue rated to 120 degrees ensures the material stays securely in place while maintaining its performance in high-heat conditions. It’s a key part of the installation process that guarantees durability, even in fluctuating temperatures.
SUPERIOR THERMAL PERFORMANCE:
Energy Efficiency: Reduces heating and cooling costs by preventing unwanted heat transfer through the roller door.
Comfort: Keeps the internal environment more stable, ensuring greater comfort for both residential and commercial spaces.
Moisture Management: Prevents moisture from entering the space, which is crucial for maintaining a healthy and dry environment.
Energy Efficiency: By reducing heat gain/loss and improving thermal regulation, this material helps save on heating and cooling costs.
Noise Reduction: The acoustic dampening is a bonus for creating a quieter and more comfortable space.
Fire Safety: Being suitable for use in bushfire-prone areas ensures peace of mind for customers in regions where fire resistance is essential.
APPLICATIONS:
Residential: This would be great for homes that have garages with roller doors, especially in areas with hot summers or cold winters. The insulation helps keep the garage cool in summer and warm in winter, improving the comfort of spaces connected to the garage.
Commercial: For warehouses, factories, or shops with large roller doors, your product could significantly improve energy efficiency by reducing heat loss and controlling indoor climate more effectively.
R-VALUE ON METAL ROLLER DOOR (Unventilated):
Winter R-Value: This value shows how well the insulation prevents heat from escaping during the winter months. With an R-value of 1.3, this provides a moderate level of thermal resistance. The unventilated ceiling likely plays a role in this, as the air in the ceiling space would typically provide an additional layer of insulation if ventilated.
Summer R-Value: During the summer months, R-value of 2.3 indicates more effective at preventing heat from entering the building. This higher summer value is due to the reflective properties of the material, which help to reflect radiant heat away from the space, thus keeping the internal temperature cooler.
Note: The sun orientation likely aids in better performance during summer by reducing direct heat exposure to the roller door.
Flexible roller door insulation has a material R-value of R0.1. When it is incorporated into typical construction systems, the above thermal performance can be achieved: R-values apply to typical conditions for mainland Australian capital cities and have been calculated by an independent consulting engineer, in accordance with AS/NZS 4859.1:2002/ Amdt 1:2006. For detailed design of building systems readers are advised to seek advice from a qualified engineer, based on actual site conditions. The contributions of this product to the total system R-value depends on installation and environmental conditions.
